What is collected when you read Access Osaka, who else receives it, and how to stop it. The short version: very little, and almost none of it by us.

What we collect ourselves
Nothing that identifies you. We do not run accounts, we do not have a newsletter, and we do not ask for your details. The web server keeps ordinary access logs — the address of the page requested, the time, and a truncated network address — for security and for diagnosing faults.
What third parties collect
Advertising. This site shows ads served by Google. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure them, and may personalise them based on your previous browsing. You can review and change this at Google My Ad Center, and opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies and records a truncated address. We look at totals; we do not attempt to identify individual readers.
Affiliate links. Some pages carry links that pay us a commission if you book or buy. Those links are marked as sponsored and set cookies belonging to the partner. Following one tells them you came from us.

Cookies, and how to refuse them
Every cookie on this site is set by the third parties above rather than by us. Your browser can block or delete them, and the links above turn off personalisation without blocking anything. The site works fine either way.
Your rights
If you are in the UK, the EU or a jurisdiction with comparable law, you have rights of access, correction and erasure over personal data held about you. We hold none that identifies you, so in practice those requests belong with Google rather than with us; the links above are the direct route.

Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes, and how to reach us
If this policy changes materially, the date below changes with it. Questions about the site can be sent through the contact route on the about page.
